Principal’s Welcome Message School Year 2026–2027

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, Community Partners, and Stakeholders,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Silver Lakes Middle School!

It is with tremendous pride, gratitude, and excitement that I welcome you back as we begin what promises to be another extraordinary year of learning, growth, and achievement. This year is especially meaningful because we are celebrating a historic milestone in the life of our school.

For the first time in the history of Silver Lakes Middle School, our school has earned an "A" School Grade, rising above decades of being rated no higher than a "C." This achievement represents far more than a letter grade—it symbolizes the power of belief, perseverance, commitment, and a shared vision for excellence.

This accomplishment belongs to every member of our Dolphin family. It is the result of the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, the unwavering support of our parents and families, and the commitment of our community, business, and civic leaders. Together, we have demonstrated what is possible when a community unites around a common purpose: ensuring success for every child.

Last year, our theme was "From Belief to Breakthrough." Today, we proudly celebrate that breakthrough. We have proven that excellence is possible, expectations matter, and success follows when we refuse to settle for less than our best. Yet while we celebrate this remarkable achievement, we also recognize that our work continues. Excellence is not a destination—it is a journey.

As we begin this new school year, we remain committed to building upon this momentum. Our focus continues to be academic achievement, innovation, character development, and preparing students for success in high school, college, careers, and life. Through our STEM Magnet Program, Cambridge International Academy, Career and Technical Education opportunities, and rigorous academic offerings, we will continue to challenge our students to reach their highest potential.

Equally important, we remain dedicated to educating the whole child. We understand that student success extends beyond academics. We will continue to nurture the social, emotional, and personal well-being of every student, ensuring that Silver Lakes Middle School remains a place where students feel safe, valued, respected, and inspired.

We are excited to welcome our incoming sixth-grade students through our Sixth-Grade Orientation and to reconnect with all families during our upcoming Open House events. These opportunities will help us strengthen the partnerships that are essential to student success. Dates and details will be announced soon.

As we look ahead, I encourage every member of our Dolphin family to remain engaged, involved, and invested in our shared mission. Together, we will continue to build upon our legacy of excellence and create even greater opportunities for our students.
